My heart is still so full from the incredible weekend we had with our friends and family. My best friends threw Erick and I an engagement party with friends and family from all over and it was perfect.
It was so nice to have most of our favorite people all in one place. We were lucky to have family come in from Nebraska, Iowa, South Carolina, as well as friends from San Francisco.
The quiet neighborhood venue that the girls chose for the venue was perfection. Between the outdoor space, the décor, and the lighting, I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. Though what the girls didn’t know at the time of booking this venue was the special sentimental value it holds in my heart. Five years ago when I came to Chicago with my friend Kate, we wrapped up our trip by eating dinner at the Rookery, formerly known as Old Oak Tap. It was then that I realized how much I loved Chicago and I would eventually be my home.
The next day, I had the opportunity to bring all my Pinterest boards to life while giving the girls a whimsical experience while I asked them to be part of my and Erick’s special day. After years of collecting vintage floral plates, I was able to put them on display while having breakfast with my bridesmaids and day of attendants.
I’m so pleased with how everything turned out, and above all, I couldn’t be happier to have these lovely women stand by me on my wedding day.
More to come...
